JustSpace has been set up to provide people of faith in Bradford with a weekly opportunity to focus on issues of Peace, Justice and Human rights. It is a forum to raise global and community issues and to seek our faithful response to them. We meet Tuesday evenings (8pm) at Desmond Tutu House, 2 Ashgrove. BD7 1BN. JustSpace calls us all into active discipleship. For information pleae call Chris on  01274 727034 or Alex on 07816749307.

JustSpace is a joint effort from Christian Aid and Bradford Diocese, supporting ‘freshexpressions’ of faith with an emphasis on peace and social justice.

During the summer we are running a series of bible studies at which poeple are sharing particular passages that have inspired them, feel free to come along. We call it Just Bible Study.

After a long and thought through discussion and debate, we have fianlly decided to change our name from ‘JustChurch’ to ‘JustSpace’. Frankly, a majority of the group felt that the word ‘church’ being in the title simply put off too many people from coming to our gathering. It is a real problem that the wider Church must address - why has it got such a negative name? Why has it not been on the side of young people working for Justice? I look forward to a time when the word Church can be seen as an inclusive and progressive turn, actively on the side of the oppressed and all of God’s creation. But that time is not yet.

In the Autumn we’ll be relaunching as JustSpace, as people reflected that our Tuesday night gatherings were about give people space to explore activism, space to explore issues of Justice, and space to relate these things to our differnt faith journeys. See the website for details nearer the time.

JustSpace will commence on the 9th Sept, 8pm at Desmond Tutu House.
